There are various traditions on the Planet of Sands. This one belongs to the Wanderers' tribe.
During an eclipse (which happens at least once a year), a party is held. Every desert Wanderer who is over 15 years old can participate it. People who celebrated their birthday in the same year are obliged to cut hair and give it to the sands of the desert. Before they must not do it, it is considered a sacrilege. Older people also have the right to do it, but this is not an obligation. It is treated like a confession, gifts for ghosts, that these forgive sins. The party lasts from the moment the eclipse begins, until it ends. Everyone dances among the rising clouds of sand and the magical spheres of light whirling in the air, created by desert insects. During the ceremony, the pupils of the eyes of all the celebrating ones change into shiny white balls in which the state of the eclipse is reflected. This is because of the ghosts circling the deserts of the planet, with whom Wanderers have been mentally connected for thousands of years.
Traditional costumes for dances are sewn by themselves. Each child gets a scrap of their parents' old clothes, which must be sewn into their clothes. Usually it is a lattice stitched at the bottom of a dress or shirt, but it can also be something similar. Each wanderer also gets an identical jacket and shoes. And a scarf to protect against the wind. Women are not obliged to wear trousers under dresses, but they often do it because of the rising sand.
